Statement / Bio:CINDY MARIE JENKINS is a Storyteller & Coach based in Los Angeles. She writes & directs interactive theater to create more direct outreach to the community, including the pilot program Shakespeare Everywhere. Cindy is a social media consultant, acting/career coach and self-termed "Art-ivist": activist for the arts, youth and education. Her adaptation of VOICES FROM CHORNOBYL has been produced in different venues around Los Angeles since 2006 to build awareness and raise money for the residents and children of Chernobyl. Cindy regularly contributes to LA Stage Alliance, Atwater Village Now, The Inspired Classroom, Bitter Lemons, LAFPI, and BloggerTalk.
Currently a Representative-at-large, Outreach Chair & Secretary for The Atwater Village Neighborhood Council, Cindy became excited to work with neighborhood councils through the EHNC-sponsored Imagine East Hollywood. She thanks Enci, Stephen Box, Jennifer Moran, David Bell & Leonora Gershmann-Pitts for introducing her to the world of NC's.
